UrbanSealion is a little shop with big ideas, selling Fairtrade, Organic, Vegetarian and Vegan food and cosmetics.

We work hard to provide high quality, but simple good food to everybody, ensuring that every visit to our shop in Cowes is a pleasant experience.  We paid attention to details even during the fittings of our shop. We only used water based paint on our walls and flooring, our furniture is produced by local crafstmen using reclaimed timber,  we chose long lasting shelving and energy efficient lighting and equipment.  

The UrbanSealion shop is fully accessible. We have planned the space carefully to ensure that not only  the products we sell are well displayed, but also to give access to families with small children and wheelchair users. 

Core Values

Our choice of products to sell at UrbanSealion is based on our core values:

• Social Justice:Products with the Fairtrade mark, guarantee that farmers are paid fairly for their work and that there is no exploitation of labour involved. We are committed to increase support to worldwide farmers working towards are a more sustainable and fairer world. 
• Sustainability: Organic Products, which are certified by Soil Association and other International bodies, guarantee that products are free of pesticides and non-genetically modified. They also tend to be produced by farming methods that cause less impact on the enviroment and are 30% more energy efficient than other farming methods. Even our cosmetics are natural. They don’t contain chemicals such as parabens and other ingredients that are harmful to the consumer and to the environment.
• Respect for all forms of life: at Urbansealion we only sell vegetarian and vegan products. None of the cosmetics we sell are or have ever been tested on animals. 

Our Promise

• We promise to continue working towards reducing our carbon footprint in all of our operational processes, from procurement to advertisement and the disposal of waste. We are keen to have more local products in our shop and we welcome local producers to contact us. 
• We promise never to put our little pictures with cheesy smiles on this website or any other promotional material. After all, our aim is not to promote personalities but to create a strong brand that you can easily identify yourself with.
